We want to help those in greatest need and therefore will make a home visit to determine what conditions may make it imperative for your family to move into safe, decent, affordable housing.
- Ability to Pay:
Can you afford the monthly house payment? These costs include mortgage, property taxes, and homeowner's insurance. Typical costs can be discussed with you.
- Willingness to Partner:
Partnering is defined as your willingness to put time and energy into acquiring, building or renovating your home. This willingness encompasses a specific number hours of "sweat equity" or actual work done on a Habitat home. For a family with two adults, 300 hours are required. For a family with one adult, 250 hours are required. Family and friends can contribute half of the sweat equity.
